EDTA Information
Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid (EDTA) is artificially developed amino acid. EDTA is commonly manufactured from ethylenediamine, methanal, sodiun cyanide and water. Various synonyms are also used for EDTA such as: diaminoethanetetraacetic acid, edetic acid, edetate and ethylenedinitrilotetraacetic acid.
Common Uses of EDTA
It is used in variety of different ways which ranges from treatment to improve cardiovascular systems to treatment of heavy metal poisoning. Use of chelating agent EDTA is quite common in treatment of heavy metal poisoning which are the results of ingestion of heavy metals. Toxic Heavy metals usually accumulate into the soft tissues of human body. EDTA removes the excessive minerals and also heavy metals from your body and thus helps in reducing the toxicity of the body.
